A few years ago working construction I had some extended access to the compound. I will put everything I remember from the compound here and feel free to ask questions. I must say I don't have anything sensational to add to the conversation. Never the less I think my rather vanilla experiences with the compound might slightly contribute to the public understanding of scientology.
I can verify that they do in fact have doomsday bunkers below the compound, some miles below. Some of the bunkers are giant tunnels which run all the way to the base of the mountain. My boss helped build the compound sometime before scientology bought it. One way to further verify the doomsday bunkers would be to figure out who owned the compound before and talk to them. Some of the bunkers existed before scientology bought and refurbished the compound.
One day on the job (working inside of the compound) I was instructed to construct skeleton frames to hold giant water bladders (I assume for the coming doomsday). We were instructed to design something which would allow the bladders to float on water and be somewhat heat resistant. We constructed skeletons out of hi temp PVC pipe which when fully assembled would hold a water bladder 15X15X15 feet. (Don’t ask me how or why this was supposed to float ect, I was just a high school kid working construction).
In every room hung a picture of that very room displaying how the room should be organized. Oddly enough the picture was always framed tilted where everything else in the room was arranged as if someone with OCD was the interior designer.
In one building they had four or five giant TV's constantly running, as in 24/7, Tom Cruise clips from entertainment tonight and other similar shows.
All of the scientologists we worked with had weird deadlines to complete their work. All work had to be completed by Thursday night. (Rumor - If they did not complete the ordered work for the week they were not allowed to use the Sauna. Not sure what Saunas had to do with anything and this was just a rumor amongst the workers and my boss.)
To even set foot on the compound I had to complete a full background check including providing my SS number. All the scientologist dressed in gray khakis and white shirts. All the scientologist provided me what were obviously fake names.
They have lots of empty cabins and a super cool wood/rope suspension bridge straight out of Indiana jones.
The compound is surrounded by 15 foot tall fencing and sentry towers equipped with heat/motion/video monitoring equipment. The only time I ever witnessed a scientologist leave the compound was to see a Tom Cruise Movie. Well that’s about all I can remember now. Like I said my experience was rather vanilla but I figured I would share it anyway.

The doomsday shelters are not even for the purpose of preserving people, just for the purpose of preserving the writing of L. Ron Hubbard against some future calamity. It is effectively the final monument to the limitless ego of LRH. Imagine if someday human civilization collapses, and the only thing that survives is the writing of L. Ron Hubbard. That would be sadly ironic.

What if the writings survive but the language doesn't?

I've lived in the San Bernardino mountains since I was a kid. It's always been a pretty ominous building. Not many locals know who actually owns it. The rumors about the compound have always interested me, thanks for the inside look

I find it interesting and utter fuckery that they wanted your SS but yet introduced themselves with fake names.

Some photos here (sorry, it's the Daily Mail):

So this is where Shelly Miscavige supposedly is?

No supposedly. The LAPD talked to her there and left certain she is safe, healthy and exactly where she wants to be.

Well, they didn't determine that, exactly. They found her, alive and apparently in command of her personal faculties enough to state she wanted to remain there, leaving them with no other choice but to leave her alone. A schizophrenic on heavy medication living in a dumpster is afforded the same benefit of the doubt, as long as they appear to be sane enough to pass a simple competency test. Her mental and physical health are still in serious doubt.

Keep in mind, her non-Scientologist friends also say they believe she wants to be there. The only exception is Leah who is such a close friend she didn't notice Shelly was missing for 2 years.
Scientology sucks, but a lot of those people really do like where they are.

Pure speculation of course but history has many examples of groups preparing for doomsday events that they then go on to initiate themselves ...
It's unlikely I know - but many ex members say the group is unrecognisable from how it was in the sixties and seventies so who can say what'll happen in thirty or forty years time? It certainly doesn't lack militarisation ...
